Multi-Housing Depot in its 124th year, is known as a 5th generation family-owned business that provides quality products and exceptional customer service to the multifamily industry. We are passionate about adding value to the multifamily communities and their residents through our products. Acacia Cabinetworks is Multi-Housing Depot’s brand of American made cabinetry specifically designed and manufactured in Burlington, NJ, for the multifamily industry. Acacia Cabinetworks provides high quality cabinets, countertops, as well as kitchen and bath refacing products for Multi-Housing Depot.
A family atmosphere is the cornerstone of our business, we treat our customers like family, and our employees are treated like family as well. In many cases, they are family, or groups of employees that are families. This is part of what makes our company great. Everyone knows the Bells, and their success story, but our company has many stories of families coming together to work towards a common goal. Multi-Housing Depot is truly a family business.
One such family is the Santaella Family. The Santaella family members working at Acacia Cabinetworks includes Carlos Santaella and his identical twin brother Roberto Santaella, their mother, Aida Hernandez, Carlos’s Father-in-law, Jose Santiago, and Carlos and Roberto’s brother-in-law, Felix Bruno.
Carlos Santaella is the family leader, and a leader at Acacia Cabinetworks since 2012. Carlos is the edgebanding area lead, supervising a team of six edgebanders in what is the most highly skilled technique in the manufacturing plant. Edgebanding is a craft as it requires operating a machine that is comprised of up to 8 mechanical processes that is highly sensitive to temperature, humidity, and material changes. Edgebanding finishes the raw edge of material to make our cabinets and related products. Carlos’s twin brother, Roberto, and his father-in-law, Jose, both joined the company in 2016, also working in the edgebanding area practicing their craft of creating fine cabinetry.
Carlos and Roberto’s brother-in-law, Felix Bruno, joined the company in 2017 after working for Amazon. Felix’s knowledge of lean principles has helped him excel in our grooving and drills area. Felix operates a machine known as a “Weeke”, which are two CNC controlled routers that cut the cabinets sides so they can be assembled.
Aida, Carlos and Roberto’s mother, joined the company in 2018 and is a drawer builder. Aida creates the drawer boxes and attaches the drawer faces for the assembly line where this final cabinetry is constructed. “Momma” Aida, is always keeping an eye on her twins and her son-in-law Felix. Her pride is seeing her family work together and touch every process to create beautiful, American made products for our customers.
Multi-Housing Depot began as a family tradition 124 years ago in 1894, with deliveries being made by horse-drawn carts. We began appliance sales in 1987, opened our manufacturing facility for cabinets and related product in 1994, expanded into our Window and Door Division in 2003 and today we are continuously improving our service and manufacturing capabilities with cutting-edge technology. We have gone from one line of production for cabinets to three in an as many years with multiple shifts. Our fifth-generation company continues to build and grow through strong customer support, hard-working personnel and the family environment that is so deeply ingrained in the MHD culture. Teamed with our quality products and services, we are The Smarter Way to Multi-House.
